I love my two countries. Germany where I'm from and the USA where I live. Both have so much going for them.

Any nation which unironically embraces David Hasselhoff cannot be all bad.
Oh my God. The Ultimate Ground Speed Check is back at #1. What in the hell is going on?

Any nation which unironically embraces David Hasselhoff cannot be all bad must be drunk 24/7.
FTFY
Oh, and Tales From the Gamecat has become self-aware, BTW. It's basically skynet at this point.

twenty-three different attributes that make up the six overall dimensions on which national image is based.
This is the most German definition of popularity ever.

This picture amuses me every time I see it. At a classic car meet in Bayern, 2007, a '78 Lincoln four-door Cartier convertible, owned by a German. Everything that is wonderful and ridiculous about both countries in one picture.

I love it. That car is just absurd. In the right way.

There really needs to be a blog of Oktoberfest frauleins showing off the guns they've built up serving beers like this...

If I have any blood in me that doesn't originate vom die Vaterland, Ich weiß es nicht.
Proud that they've made and continue to make some of the world's best cars (and beer), and allow places like the Nürburgring and unrestricted sections of the autobahn to continue to exist.
I hope one day modern Germans can all feel free to be openly proud of their home country. I know that in the past, and even today, many are very cautious of displays of pride or patriotism, because they know the dark places where some of these strong feelings took their great state in the past.
Nearly every country's citizens have some shameful things in their collective past, some more than others, but as long and we learn from these past errors, admit to them and teach about them in our schools, and focus on doing better, there is much to be proud of.
